NEW DELHI: The privileges granted by the union government and the Mandal commission to the backward castes in the government jobs would not only retard the process of national integration and create “class war” in the society the Supreme Court was told Wednesday.
Continuing submissions before a five judge constitution bench headed by the chief justice Justice Ranganath Misra the petitioner in person K N Rao said “it would undo what has been achieved during the past 43 years
The bench was hearing a challenge to the constitutional validity of the Mandal commission report and the union government decision to implement it reserving 7% government jobs to the backward classes.
