BATHINDA: After the discernible improvement in the law and order situation in Punjab some of the cancelled trains may be re stored in the near future. S.R.Sharma, IG (Railways), while talking to newsmen here March 28, said the police did not want to leave anything to chance, all trains, especially on branch lines, could not be restored in views of the renewal threat by militants. The trains were most vulnerable and patrolling on tracks could not be held round the clock.
However, he said in view of the inconvenience to the commuters and loss of railway revenue, the police could recommend the re scheduling of trains, A review under the chairmanship of the DGP Punjab.
