BATALA (PTI): Punjab police claimed to have foiled a plan to kill Shiv Sena chief Bal Thackeray following the arrest of four militants last week.
The militants belonging to the Babbar Khalsa outfit led by Rajwinder Singh alias Raju had planned to kill Thackeray, Batala police Chief Rohit Chaudhary, told reporters here.
He said the militants Baljit Singh, Joginder Singh, Sarbjit Singh alias Saba and Baljit Singh alias Jhuzar Singh were involved in a number of criminal cases including blowing up of police vehicles and an attack on Sita Ram Kesri, former SSP Batala.
