AMRITSAR: The Punjab Government has reserved eight posts of both chairman and vice chairman for the Scheduled Castes and women in this border district.
An official spokesman said here last week, three posts of chairman and vice chairman each had been reserved for Scheduled Caste, one each for Scheduled Caste women and four each for women.
Both the posts of chairman and vice chairman for the Verka, Tam Taran and Ajnala block, dominated by the Akali Dal (Badal), have been reserved for Scheduled Castes.
