GANGTOK (SIKKIM): The government of this Himlayan state in esteem India has taken measures for issuing photo identity cards to its electorate by January next as per the directive of the Chief Election Commissioner (CEC).
“If everything goes well, the department will be able to complete the task ahead of the deadline stipulated by the CEC, Chingappa said.
Teams would soon be deputed to take photographs of voters on a booth-to-booth basis, hie said.
