PATIALA, Punjab, India: The Akali Dal (L) conference here today expressed full confidence in the leadership of Surjit Singh Barnala. The leaders also launched an attack on the U.A.D. who is now moving with a begging bowl after getting a democratically elected government toppled. Barnala said that earlier when the UAD, leaders were part of Akali Dal (L), these people were responsible for reduced themselves from the position of rulers. He said that the present dharnas before the offices of DCs are futile and described Badal formula as old wine in new bottles. He said that these points were already a part’ of Rajiv Longowal accord. Barnala said that UAD has no program and they were misleading the public. The resolution of confidence was moved by Gobind Singh Kanjila, MLA, and approved by a show of hands by the audience, demanding the recall of Governor S.S. Ray, Barnala said that the President’s rule has miserably failed in controlling the Sikh freedom movement, launched by the Sikhs for the establishment of Khalistan.
