SAN JOSE: In loving memory of “Papa” Sekhon Aug.28, 1906 Jan.12,1993 Mr. Chanan Singh Sekhon, popularly known as “Papa Sekhon” diedJan.12,1993 in San Jose, CA.
More than 300 relatives and friends said farewell to “Papa” at the services held Sunday Jan.17 at the Chapel of the Oaks in San Jose. Several close friends and relatives spoke of his great kindness, warmth, and his sense of humor that touched all who met him. His son, Mr. Baldev “Bill” Sekhon, thanked the crowd touchingly as he was so choked by emotion and love for his father that he could not continue.
Mr. Sekhon was from village Sangatpura District Ludhiana in Punjab, but he spent most of his life in Patiala. He served as the superintendent of Jails (Patiala). He was chief staff officer for Chief Brijbhan of Pepsu (now Punjab). He later retired and immigrated to the US. To 3 his children and their families.
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He leaves behind, his loving wife Bibi Sarup Kaur Sekhon, ason, Baldev “Bill” Sekhon, two _daughters; Avtar Kaur Grewal and | Rajwant Kaur Kaila, eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. : A Bhog of Sahaj Path will be held Saturday Jan. 23, 1993 al 1:30 PM at the San Jose.
