AMRITSAR, Punjab, India: The five members Panthic Committee on Thursday announced its resolve not to have any truck with any organization which had faith in the “biased” Indian Constitution.
In a policy statement, the Panthic panel extended its sympathy towards all Sikhs. “Whatever their political ideologies are they are all Sikhs and we as Sikhs are up in arms against the Government which we believe is bent on eliminating the community”, a four and a half page handwritten note in Gurmukhi released by the panel said.
The note was signed by Mr. Gurbachan Singh Manochahal, acting jathedar of the Akal Takht appointed by the militants and the four other panthic panel members.
Mr. Wasan Singh, Mr. Dalbir Singh, Mr. Dalwinder Singh and Mr. Kanwaljit Singh.
The press note directed the militants not to kill women, children and innocent men. It also directed the militants to verify the activities of suspected police informers before killing them.
