AMRITSAR: The five member panthic committee, the supreme body of all the militant organizations in the State, has accused the dismissed Jathedar of Akal Takht of having reached an understanding with the govt. prior to his mysterious release from Jail in March, 88 and declared that he would have to face Sikh Panth for his misdeeds.

The press release issued here on June 4, 1988, the five Panthic committee members also promised to punish in accordance with Sikh traditions all members of the executive Committee of SGPC for their recently announced decisions which they remarked had been taken in consultation with the Gov. While opposing all the decisions of May 30, 1988. The penal took special cognizance of the Dismissal of the five head priests, as they consider it the sole prerogative of the Sarbat Khalsa. Taking serious note of recent operation “Black Thunder” on the Golden Temple the Committee announced their determination not to spare anyone responsible for this operation. The committee termed as martyrs all those who laid down their lives while protecting the sanctity of the temple. The panel also said that they also hold in esteem all those who surrendered after fighting bravely for ten days.
