A statement by Baba Was a Singh said that Sikh soldiers had already been used by Indian government in Sri Lanka and Maldives, before this Sikh soldiers had sacrificed their lives in 1971 Indo Pakistan war, he said. He asked the Sikh soldiers to refuse to fight against the Mujhadeen and told the Mujhadeen that the Sikhs as a community would fully support their freedom struggle.
