LONDON, Dec. 5, Reuter: Pakistan is confident the United States will resume aid, suspended because of concern over Islamabad’s nuclear program, Prime Minister Mohammad Khan junior said in an interview published in London on Saturday.
“it is true that the United States has certain’ misgivings about our nuclear program… but we are confident that the suspension of U.S. aid will be reversed”, he told the
Middle East Economic digests.
“It is my belief that our bilateral relations are sufficiently strong to weather the ups and downs dictated by domestic and international events”, Junejo said.
Junejo, who is touring Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates and Kuwait, said he had taken steps to mediate an end to the gulf war between Iran and Iraq. Pakistan has good relations with the both countries.
‘Commenting on developments in Pakistan, he said: “We have a fully democratic order with all its concomitant institutions, values and practices”.
