NEW DELHI: Pour Pakistanis a Bangladeshi and their Indian con~ tact have been held by Delhi police under TADA for allegedly planning countrywide explosions poisoning of wells and strikes aimed to cripple the Indian economy.

Police have seized explosives and what they call incriminating documents they have also come across a laboratory in East Delhi being used for the manufacture of explosive devices

it is said the six were being instructed by Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) agency Delhi police believe that three other Pakistanis have entered India with the same purpose in mind Police Commissioner M.B. Kaushal told media persons here last week that this was the first known case of Pakistan using its own nationals to carry out strikes in India. Pakistan’s High Commission in New Delhi was officially being weeks.

A Government official claimed the men belonged to Islami Inquilabi Mahaz (11M) a Lahore based organization funded by ISI ‘The organization imparts arms training to volunteers recruited from different Muslim fundamentalist and militant groups. He said TIM branches and training centers were located in Peshawar and at Bagh and Kotlli in Pak-Occupied Kashmir (POK).

The six held have been named as Mahfouz Ali Khan Amjad Ali Khalid Pehlwan Taimur Ali (Pakistanis all) Mohammed Rauef (Bangladeshi) and their Indian associate Chand Mian. Mehfooz Ali Khan was the first to be arrested overpowered by men from the police special cell in the Town Hall area of Old Delhi

The group was closely involved with the Afghan Mujahedeen and three of those arrested Amjad Khalid and Taimur had taken extensive training in Afghanistan on guerrilla warfare weapons Explosives rockets and even axillary guns he said

Khalid had also participated in an armed attack on an Indian army post at Mendhar (in Poonch district of Jammu and Kashmir) during January/February last year
