NEW DELHI, India: A majority of the India people do not believe that Pakistan threatens India’s security.
In a nationwide poll commissioned by The Times of India group of publications last week, SS per cent of those interviewed said that they saw no security threat from Pakistan.
This verdict of the India people at large, The Times of India said, seemed to go against the relief
Generally held by the politicians, the defense establishment, the civil servants, and other elitist groups m India that Pakistan posed a security threat to India.
The poll was conducted by the Operations Research Group, a market research organization. The ORG?’s field staff interviewed 2243 selected adults in 42 cities and towns all over India including New Delhi, Calcutta, Bombay and Madrass.
