ISLAMABAD: Pakistan has shot down four Indian helicopters that entered its airspace over the disputed Siachin Glacier. How many casualties resulted from the downing is unknown. An army official said such helicopters usually carry a pilot and one crew member. For more than a decade, Pakistan and India have been fighting a limited war over the Siachin Glacier, which is sandwiched between the Karakoram and Himalayan mountain ranges. The two countries disagree over the location of the border that divides the glacier between India and Pakistan, Their armies are deployed in posts on the ice capped peaks barely 500 feet apart.
