ISLAMABAD (PTI): Pakistan will buy three Agosta-90″ submarines from France at a cost of. About 700 million dollars, a newspaper report said here Sept.25.

“The Frontier Post’ reported that an agreement to this effect was reached on Thursday between French defence minister Pierre Joxe and his Pakistani counterpart, Ghous Ali Shah. Joxe left for Kampuchea to inspect French battalions after a couple of hours stay in Islamabad.

During the talks, lasting three hours, the two sides discussed several issues, including a nuclear power plant reportedly committed to Pakistan by French president, Francois Mitter and sale of mirage-2000 fighter aircraft.

According to the newspaper, which quoted a reliable source, the Sale of the aircraft remained a low Priority,” The newspaper did NOL Cite any reasons for this.
