ISLAMABAD: Pakistan’s first indigenously produced satellite “Badar-A”’ will be launched in June this year with Chinese cooperation.

The satellite will be launched aboard the Chinese Long March Venicie rocket, the chairman of Pakistan’s space and upper atmosphere research commission Suparco) Dr. Mohammad Shafi told Pakistan television in an interview.

Badar-A is a 3.5 cubic feet volume package and is spherically shaped with 26 faces.

The main function of the Satellite is to act like a flying mail box with a good capacity to store and forward information fed from the earth station.
