ISLAMABAD (PTI): Another Pakistani Minister, Sardar Asif Ahmed Khan, April 6 resigned over what he said were differences with Premier Nawaz Sharif’s government, especially over its policy on terrorism, and joined the dissident’s camp in the ongoing power struggle between the president and the prime minister.
Khun, minister of state for economic affairs and the fourth member to quit the Sharif cabinet in 10 days, said he had raised with Sharif the issue of foreign terrorists roaming inside Pakistan a number of times, but nothing much had been done about it.
A former minister and son-in-law of president Ghulam Ishaq Khan, Anwar Saifullah Khan, who was present at the news conference, said more such resignations would follow to bring about an “in-house” change in leadership and remove Sharif as prime minister.
