ISLAMABAD: An official spokesman has denied Indian reports about concentration of forces on the Pakistani side of the actual line of control.
He said Pakistan had already announced that its soldiers were out in small groups carrying out routine summer training well away from the borders.
This fact was well known to the Indians and should not be misinterpreted as concentration of force, he said.
He described as baseless other stories regarding enhanced deployment of Pak troops and tanks opposite Jammu and Jaurian.
The Pakistani spokesman also discounted what he termed as exaggerated press reports regarding armed clashes along the line of actual control in Kashmir.
According to reports, five Pakistani soldiers were killed and unspecified numbers wounded in an exchange of gunfire with Indian troops in the Poonch sector.
The spokesman confirmed that exchanges of fire had taken place in the Poonch sector during the last two days.
