NEW DELHE ; Pakistan has enough triton to give it a capability of making to nuclear bombs, going by published fats, according to a top Indian defense ministry official.
Addressing a spate of queries from newsmen on Pakistan nuclear program at the economic editor’s conference here, the official said that though the government had indirect evidence to go by, there were enough published facts to calculate that Pakistan had material to possess nuclear bombs.
The minister of state for defense Krishna Kumar said that India was “conscious” of the quest by Pakistan of becoming a nuclear power and said it would take all steps to safeguard the nation.
He said that India was not in a position to sign the nuclear nonproliferation treaty (NPT) as it was discriminatory.
Krishna Kumar touched upon all aspects of defense ranging from defense preparedness, militancy proportions in Kashmir and Punjab to India entering arms export market.
