NEW DELHI (PTI): India regretted the Pakistan National Assembly’s resolution on Kashmir and urged Islamabad to “abandon its negative approach and refrain from propagandist actions that undermine the ongoing process of bilateral dialogue.”

Sharply reacting to the resolution a spokesman of the external affairs ministry Oct.27 said it was totally unacceptable and “once again raised doubts about Pakistan’s sincerity in reducing tension and building mutual confidence and trust in its relations with India.”

The Pak national assembly had Monday adopted a resolution condemning that it called “Indian atrocities in Kashmir” and termed it a “gross violation of universally accepted norms of human rights.”

The spokesman said India considered the resolution moved by the Pakistan minister of state for foreign affairs as a “blatant attempt at interfering in Indias internal affairs.”

Kashmir is and will be an integral part of India” it was reiterated.

The spokesman said the Pakistan government had chosen to associate itself with “acts designed to inflame public opinion and incite people to violence and militancy.”

He said the Pakistan assembly resolution apart from premising itself on a gross distortion of history deliberately obfuscates up to keep alive the central issue of continued and active support by Pakistan to terrorism and subversion in Jammu and Kashmir.

“When Pakistan talks about human rights violations it should not forget the grave violation of human rights of the innocent victims of terrorist attack and aided and abetted by Pakistan” the spokesman said.
