JALANDHAR: The Bahujan Samaj Party and the Akali Dal (Badal) are likely to enter into a poll alliance for the forthcoming by-elections in the Nakodar (Jalandhar) and Ajnala (Amritsar) assembly constituencies, An indication to this effect was given by Mr. Kansi Ram, BSP President, while talking to newsmen here.

 Kansi Ram said Badal wanted the BSP to support the Akali Dal (Badal) in the by-elections.

Badal is reported to have told Kansi Ram that the Dal (B) was no longer supporting the BJP.

Asked how he could forge an electoral alliance with the Akali Dal (Badal) whom he had described as “Brahman wadi,” Kansi Ram said they had to change their policies.

Kansi Ram said he also told Badal to, units with Simranjit Singh Mann and. he would extend support to the Alkalis, Badal said the Jalandhar Lok Sabha by-election had proved that the Sikhs

Were with his party. .

Answering a question, said he did not support the Akali demand for more rights to the stats. ‘The Center should remain strong. He said there were no contradiction in his call for social transformation and status quo in the political system.
