SRINAGAR: About 110 Jammu and Kashmir policemen have been dismissed after suppression of the police revolt.

Highly placed police sources said here on May 5 the dismissal of the police personnel hailing from different wings of police was finalized after long deliberations and to enforce discipline.

Meanwhile, the police coordination committee has given a call for Kashmir band against “harassment and victimization” of police personnel.

“More dismissals and suspensions on disciplinary counts are in the pipeline which may follow in a few days from now,” the sources said.

They said transfers and postings of many middle level officers has also been issued, It is reported a major component of and K armed police is likely to be deputed outside the state for law and order duty.

The police coordination committee (PCC) which spearhead a drive for fair treatment, has urged government employees, transporters, business, community and general public to express solidarity with the sinking policemen, who, it said, were fighting for a “just and genuine cause,”

The PCC received a shot in the arm with the Jammu and Kashmir employees and workers confederation, wans porters and other trade organizations, urging people to “express solidarity with the: striking police brethren.

Criticizing the authorities for adopting a “rigid and confront rational altitude towards the “just and genuine demands” of the police personnel, the powerful state government employees confederation said “we have jumped into the door die battle launched by the police personnel and will fight alongside “victimized policemen till their demands are met.”

Meanwhile, the state authorities have deputed K.Rajindcran Kumar former SSP, Srinagar, to the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) as commandant.

Rajinderan was earlier transferred to Jammu to take up the charge of S P Came Gammu, following allegations leveled against him by the striking policemen that he was behind the murder of their colleague, Riyaz Ahmad.

The transfer of Rajinderan was announced by Director General of State police B.S_Bedi while addressing a section of the stoking policemen on April 26, when he air dashed to Srinagar cutting short his leave.

The DGP then said that he has” transferred Rajinderan to Facilitate “unhindered” enquiry into the allegations.
