LUDHIANA: International Hu man Rights Organization, Lawyers’ body and Sikh groups on April 27 called upon the political parties, Contesting Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat to choose a common candidate and give a fight to the ruling party, which is dictatorial, undemocratic and is opposed 16 the nights of Punjab and its people.
The International Human Rights Organization (IHRO) Chairman D.S.Gill and General Secretary Mohinder Singh Grewal, and the Punjab Sikh Lawyers Council (PSLC) Presidium Member Gurdish Singh Grewal and its Secretary Mr MIS Dhillon, in a joint statement here Tuesday, urged the need to make consensus ona candidate who could deliver goods in the Parliament.
The lawyers and nights activists expressed the hope that political groups, especially Akali factions led by Simranjit Singh Mann and Parkash Singh Badal, would see reason and honestly pick a consensus candidate, The SGPC Chief Gurcharan Singh Toh, they said, has 4 role to play in this regard.
Meanwhile, the Sikh Vichar Manch (SVM) President Gurbhajan Singh Gill and Vice President Baba Inderjit Singh Bedi also urged the masses and social and political activists to compel their leaders to collectively fight against the fascist ruling party.
Bhai Kalyan Singh, General Secretary of the Takht Sri Patna Sahib Parbandhak Committee ad vised Mann and Badal Akali groups to denounce arrogance and come to a consensus by all means.
