NEW DELHI: Both the Bharatiya Janata Party and the Vishwa Hindu Parishad have come out strongly against job reservation for Muslims, with the VHP issuing a warning that any State Government which stood in the way of the construction of the am temple would be dispensed with.

The BJP spokesperson Sushma ‘Swaraj and the VHP general secretary Ashok Singhal clarified the stand of their organizations while responding lo newsperson’s queries. Singhal, who was addressing newspersons on the deliberations of the VHP national executive after the official ban was lifted on it, said in response to a query that his organization was opposed to job reservation for Muslims. He said that Muslims were becoming more and more irrelevant in politics.” While there was At a single Muslim elected to the Madhya Pradesh legislature, only Couple of them was elected to the Gujarat Legislative Assembly.

When he was asked that the Bahujan Samaj Party, which was being supported by the BJP, was opposed to the Construction of the Ram temple at Ayoihya, he replied that any Government which opposed the Ayodhya temple would be thrown out “lock stock and barrel,” When he was for a specific time frame for eventuality, he replied rather vaguely that General Elections were due in another six months.

Singhal was not forthcoming when he was asked about BSP supremo Kanshi Ram’s outburst that toilets should be built at the Ayodhya site, except saying that Dr. B:R: Ambedkar ‘was a great patriot.
