Colombo — Opposition leaders called upon the Government of Sri Lanka to initiate proceedings against United Tamil Liberation front leader, Mr. Amrit Lingam for appealing to the Government of India to send army in aid of the Liberation Front. They have described Mr. Amrit’s action as Anti National and Treasonable. United Tamil Liberation Front is fighting for greater autonomy to the region where Tamils are in majority. Tamils constitute 17% of Sri Lanka’s total population but have an overwhelming majority in the Northern Sri Lanka. They feel discriminated in every walk of life.
