Dear Sardar Mann,
Recent publications have indicated that your position on the SGPC elections is that Sehajadhari Sikhs not be allowed to vote, Why Not? Who are you to judge a person’s “Sikhness”?
Daily I see the commitment, the spirituality and the sewa of Sikh men ‘and women, Many of them do not have the outward manifestations of a beard, turban, kirpan, etc. of the Sikh Gurus, does that make them less a Sikh.
Anti-Sikhs like Beant Singh and KPS Gill show the face you have approved, does that make them Good Sikhs? I think not.
slow Guru’s teachings to the letter, yet we do our best.
“Many of us do not follow Guru’s teachings to the letter, yet we do our best, say our prayers, perform our sewa and pray that Wahe Guru will read our hearts. You should do no less.
To deny ALL SIKHS the opportunity to participate in these elections you shut the door on millions of potential supporters. Do you not want exit time and talents? If you demy them their right to participate in Sikhism’s democratic ways then perhaps you should deny yourself their money. Or do you expect those you don’t approve of o still pay and yet have no rights?
Revolutions have started for those same principles. Is not Unity a more worthy outcome?
