The popular and ethnic press in both the US and India credits you with being the heart and soul of the Khalistan lobby in Washington. Your press releases weekly congratulate your organization and leadership for making the US Congress sit up and take notice of the Human Rights ‘abuses in India/You crow when over 60 congressmen put your notices forward to the governments of India and the US, read your press releases into the Congressional Record and call you freedom fighters, but here, in your own back yard, two young men are growing old in a New York prison while the wheels of justice do not budge. Where are your concerns and those of your powerful friends when it comes to Bhai Ranjit Singh Gill and Bhai Sukhminder Singh? Their lives are as precious as Mr. S.S. Mann or Mr. Jaswant Khalra, They too are without. Passports and visas, they cannot travel freely and they are imprisoned without charge in what is truly the world’s greatest democracy. Here in the US we are free to criticize and question without fear of reprisal, so we ask not for a march, a parade, or a photo opportunity, we only ask for a fair trial Fair enough? A, Singh, M. Kaur California.
