TORONTO: Between 2,000 to 3,000 Ontario govt. workers have received layoff Notices causing mass distress according to a negotiator for the Ontario Public Service Employees Union. Because layoff notices are being sent to individual workers, it is difficult to tell the exact number. These layoffs are the result of the NDP government’s restructuring efforts to deal with the province’s deficit.
