ONTARIO: Ontario police officers will replace their old 38-calibre revolvers with more powerful 9mm or40-calibre semi-automatic pistols within the next five years the government was to announce Jan.30. AS well every officer will be required to have at least 28 hours of training on the new weapons including the mandatory firing at 1000 rounds of ammunition.
The changes of regulations in the Police Services Act were to be outlined Monday by Solicitor General Dave Christopher son a government source said.
