Dear Editor, Tread two letters (WSN of December 9) with great interest and concern. In the first letter J.P.S. Sandhu wrote: need to know if some scholar of Sikhism can explain the real meaning of ‘Ek O’ankar.’ “He also mentioned that he knew the meaning of religious bases, but not as a scholar or a spiritual person. There is only, one meaning of ‘Ek O’ankar’ whether you consider it from religious, scholarly or spiritual point of view. If Mr. Sandhu knew its meaning from religious point of view then why did he think that its meaning would be different from scholarly or spiritual point of view? If we could explain it specifically what would he like to know, just possible I may be able to help him. In the second letter Mr. Balwant Singh wrote about the violence in ‘gurdwaras; “At the end I would also like to make a humble appeal to all the concerned Sikhs of North America to form a mechanism to prevent from happening such unworthy and un Sikh like ii dents in the future.” The root cause of violence in gurdwara is wrangling over control of funds. The entrenched members consider the Gurdwara property as their fiefdom and adopt unethical practices to retain control, resulting, sometimes, in unseemly civil and criminal litigation. I have recently submitted an article on ‘Gurdwara’ to the editor for its publication for the benefit of the readers of WSN. If it is published, I am sure the Sikhs of North America and the rest of the world would find a mechanism to run Gurdwaras as. ‘Presented in Gurbani and it would also help them to prevent the unworthy and UN Sikh like incidents in the future.
‘My study of Gurbani shows that Gurbani and Sikhism are the most scientific and logical religious scripture and religion in the world, respectively. If both are explained scientifically and logically to the present Sikh generation of the Space Age, most of the problems will be solved,
