Japan’s oldest active geisha has died at the age of 102 after more than 80 years entertaining Tokyo business and political elite. The family of Tsutakiyokomatsu Asaji says she died August 18th, of kidney failure. Asaji, considered one of the last authentic Tokyo geisha, was famed for her mastery of traditional singing and storytelling methods. Over the years, her list of famous clients included wartime Prime Minister Hideki Tojo and Honda Motor Co. founder Soichiro Honda.
