CHANDIGARH: Media circles in Punjab these days are with rumors that the state government has cither imposed an informal censorship on The Tribune or the newspaper itself has hammered an arrangement with the government to show important news to chief secretary A.S.Chatha before they are printed. That is why The Tribune recently carried a rebuttal of what Akali leader Parkash Singh Badal stated on the water issue. The aim of the story was that the chief minister should not be exposed to adverse publicity even for 24 hours and the rebuttal must be procured the same day and used in the same story.
