CHANDIGARH: The Punjab Government today took the first Concrete step towards the creation of a new township, Popularly called “New Chandi, by issuing a notification under Section 4’ of the Land Acquisition act 1994 for acquiring 7.543 acres in 15 villages of Kharar Tehsil in Ropar district envisaged the creation of ete Ropar district. The project, he said, envisaged the Creation of proper Residential and other: facilities designed Omnia creep Quality of life, It was expected to help in the generation of economic ‘wealth and employment to a large number of persons. The government and the PHDB had identified about 25,000 areas which would be notified under section 4 for its planned development. This project world have interlinks with the infrastructure and industrial and commercial activities of Mahali. To further ease the pressure on Chandigarah, a site was being selected at Dera Bassi for another residential urban estate. It was also proposed to undertake the planned development of other town like Kharar, Morinda, Fatehgarh Sahib etc.
