VANCOUVER, B.C: W.S.O. International President S. Didar Singh Bains in a telegram to the Jathedar Akal Takht, Bhai Jasbir Singh Khalsa and the Indian Prime Minister, Rajiv Gandhi, stated that Sikhs ‘will not accept anything less than an independent State of Khalistan. The full text of the telegram is as follows:
Sikhs are suffering humiliation and degradation and are being sub jected to racial and cultural genocide and loss of property at the hands of Rajiv’s Indian government. The Indian government has consistently betrayed and are notorious for not fulfilling any of the promises they made to the Sikhs. The self-respect and integrity of the Sikh faith demand that we will not accept anything less than an independent State of Khalistan.
