AMRITSAR: The decision of the government not to release Bhai Manjit Singh, president of the All India Sikh Students Federation, along with Prakash Singh Badal, Simranjit Singh Mann and G.S. Tohra, has been described by the AISSF as a deep-rooted conspiracy of the government An emergency meeting of the federation, which was held under the president ship of Jasbir Singh Ghuman, said that it showed the double standards of the government as Bhai Manjit Singh was arrested along with Badal and Mann on February 8 at Bathinda and a case under TADA was registered against the three under one FIR.
The meeting accused the government of arresting the federation activists under a calculated move. The meeting, while demanding immediate release of all federation activists, decided to raise the issue in the proposed meeting of six Panthic organizations scheduled to be held on April 28 at Chandigarh.
In another resolution, the federations appealed to militant organizations not to suspect the working of Panthic leaders instead form a joint coordination committee to achieve the goal of an independent Sikh state
The federation observed that there was dire need to start a joint crusade by strengthening the confidence and unity among militants and Panthic organizations.
