Journalist: Mr. Ambassador, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister, Mr. C, Ramchandran has announced that the police will return everything including arms that were captured form various centers of the Tamil Liberation Front in the State.

Ambassador: That’s right.

Journalist: The police had raided their centers after the leaders of the Front rejected Mr. Jayewardene’s proposals for settlement of Tamil issue in Sri Lanka. The proposals were earlier endorsed by Rajiv Gandhi.

Ambassador: Very true.

Journalist: What compulsions are there that are forcing the government for return sophisticated illegal weapons to the Tamil guerrillas who are waging an open rebellion in a neighbouring country? Isn’t India playing the same game as is being played by the Soviets in Afghanistan?

Journalist: Mr. Ambassador, Punjab Finance Minister, Mr. Balwant Singh has stated that Khalistan will not be in the interests of the Sikhs.

Ambassador: That’s right.

Journalist: For Balwant Singh Sikh interests mean his own personal interests as demonstrated by his shameless role in sabotaging the Sikh struggle by engineering the hollow Punjab Accord.

Journalist:  Don’t you think if Balwant Singh were to be made the ‘Chief Minister, he would even say that it is not in Sikh interest to be Sikhs and would ask Sikhs to embrace Hinduism?

Journalist: Don’t you think trains have been cancelled to economically destroy the Sikh farmers of Punjab? Is it not a fact that military exercise is only a ruse to permanently station army in Punjab?
