Journalist : Mr, Ambassador, Haryana Chief Minister, Mr. Bhajan Lal has resigned from his position to protest against Rajiv Gandhi’s decision to transfer Chandigarh to Punjab on June 21, 1986.

Journalist: Rajiv Gandhi is sending his Railway Minister, Mr. Bansi Lalas the new Haryana Chief Minister. Mr. Bansi Lal was once very close to late Sanjay Gandhi and is known for his anti-Sikh feelings.

Journalist: How come India’s most unprincipled politician who had defected from Janata Party and joined Congress (I) along with his entire Cabinet to save his Chair, has now resigned over the issue of transfer of a city to which Haryana never had any legal claim? Is he not carrying out the orders of Rajiv to provide some kind of face saving for the Congress (I).

Journalist: Mr. Ambassador, in his editorial in the December 7, 1985 issue of Daily Milap (urdu) of New Delhi, Mr. Parkash has branded all Sikhs living in India as traitors because in their prayers they recite that ‘Khalsa shall rule’ (Raj Karega Khalsa).
Ambassador: That’s right.
Journalist: He has suggested that for reciting this ‘objectionable Prayer’ Sikhs should either be blown up with cannons or packed off to Pakistan.

Journalist: How come Gov’t of India has not instituted any legal Proceedings against Mr, Parkash for writing inflammatory material and for preaching communal hatred? Is it because Indian Government also subscribes to the same philosophy and is presently engaged in carrying out his suggestions?

Journalist: Mr. Ambassador, Former Punjab Chief Minister and dissident Akali Leader, Mr. Parkash Singh Badal has demanded that S.G.P.C. elections should be immediately ordered, Ambassador: That’s right,
Journalist: He has also suggested that the verdict of S.G.P.C, elections should be considered as a barometer for determining whether Sikh majority supports Barnala or his opponents, Ambassador: Very Correct,
Journalist : Do you think Indian Government would order long overdue S.G.P.C. elections? Can it take the risk of exposing to the world Barnala’s hollow claim of popular support?
