JOURNALIST: Mr. Ambassador, at the Congress (l) rally in Delhi, Rajiv Gandhi once again tried to emotionalize the atmosphere by projecting his late mother as the “mother of the nation.”
AMBASSADOR: That’s right.
JOURNALIST: He also said that she was killed by the “enemies” to destabilize the country.
AMBASSADOR: Very correct.
JOURNALIST: Does it mean Rajiv Gandhi has lost all hope of winning the election on political and economic issues? How does he expect Sikhs to stay within India when he publically calls them enemies?

JOURNALIST: Mr. Ambassador, the farmers that came to Delhi to protest against anti-farmer policies of Rajiv Gandhi’s government were convinced after a tour of the city, that the government had totally neglected development work in the rural areas.
AMBASSADOR: That’s right.
JOURNALIST: They also realized that the Congress (I) government had all along used agricultural resources to benefit the traders and industrialists.
AMBASSADOR: Very correct.
JOURNALIST: What new strategy and deception will the Congress (I) adopt now to win back the support of the estranged farmers?

JOURNALIST: Mr. Ambassador, according to a newspaper report, Punjab Sikh Forum, is to release a “white paper exposing the corrupt practices of certain S.G.P.C. Executive members.
AMBASSADOR: That’s right.
JOURNALIST: The paper also threatens to expose the alleged “Government SGPC Nexus” and throw light on the land scandals.
AMBASSADOR: Very correct.
JOURNALIST: Would it not be proper for the Sikh Forum to demand fresh elections to the SGPC rather than hurting yet another Sikh institution?
