VANCOUVER: The Press last week has portrayed a certain Balraj Singh Sidhu as a world leader of the Sikh religion. The World Sikh Organization would like to go on public record as stating that Balraj Singh Sidhu is not in any way a representative of the Sikh Religion In fact Sikhs do not have priestly class Mr. Sidhu is a self-acclaimed leader of a group called Dodra.

Two years ago the World Sikh Organization had asked the Akal Takht (the highest authority on Sikh Religion) regarding some of the teachings of this Dodra group. These teachings have been denounced and the World Sikh Organization has been warning its members about this group. We now pray that some innocent Sikhs who were attracted to this group will see the light and return to the main stream Sikh philosophy.

We would like to request that the Press desist from portraying this man as a world leader of Sikhism and refrain from imposing priesthood on him. Sikhs believe in the equality of all persons each individual has the same access to his Maker. Therefore there is no need for a middleman to speak on his behalf.
