JAMMU: There could be no time-frame for restoring normalcy in Kashmir as long as Pakistan continued its arms aid to Kashmiri militants according to Ved Marwah advisor to the governor of Jammu And Kashmir State.

Talking to a group of visiting journalists here recently Marwah said arms and ammunition continued to reach militants from across the line of actual control and other routes including from Punjab.

Marwah who is also in-charge of law and” order in the state said infiltration and exfiltration had however substantially reduced due to extra-vigil by security forces” on the borders and also because of large casualties of militants in the five km border belt.

Asked about the number of armed militants present in Kashmir valley the advisor said the official estimates did not put the number at more than-four thousand. However many other militants who had received training in Pakistan may have become inactive now after having realized the futility of armed struggle Marnwsh said?
