NEW DELHI: India firmly believes that there can be no role for any third party on the Kashmir issue and no country was putting pressure on India for the same, the Minister of State for External Affairs, Salman Khurshid, informed the Lok Sabha.

He said the Government had appraised the international community on the Kashmir situation, especially the role of Pakistan in aiding, abetting ‘and supporting terrorism and its illegal occupation of a part of the border gate. Headed the Government would welcome the U.S. Government using its influence over Pakistan to end the latter’s support to militants in India. Replying to a query by Sultan Salahuddin Owaisi, Khurshid said that India had informed the US Government that there was incontrovertible evidence that Pakistan’s active sponsorship of militancy in India continues with the supply of arms, equipment, training and infiltration.

The Government was committed to resolve bilateral differences, including the Kashmir issue, peacefully and through bilateral negotiations in accordance with the Shimla Agreement.
