“Khalistan will be a welfare state, a land of equality for all citizens irrespective of religious beliefs,” President Sewa Lalli of Khalistan government-in-exile has said in a Statement to the press. .

Dismissing as a “pack of lies” the Indian propaganda that non Sikh citizens will be discriminated against in Khalistan if it came into being as a sovereign state, he said that the parliament of Khalistan had already adopted as the basic Principle of state policy the teaching of the Sikh scripture— Guru Granth Sahib—which enjoins that the entire mankind should be treated as one family (Manuski jaat sabhe li ek hi  pehchan bol.

He said that the 10 Gurus founded the Sikh faith in a bid to free mankind from the Hindu Caste System, which had shackled humanity and subjected it to socioeconomic divisions, oppressing the members of the lower castes and reducing them to indignities and socio-economic injustices for several centuries.

Following in the footsteps of the Gurus, the Sikhs are struggling to liberate their homeland and establish in it the sovereign state of Khalistan, in which the oppressed humanity will be freed of this oppressive system,

“Khalistan government-in-exile,” he said, “assures the people living in this homeland that the following safeguards will be enshrined in the Consutution of Khalistan,”

1) Every citizen of Khalistan will have complete religious freedom in Khalistan, and every religion will be given equal respect, giving every citizen the right to practice the faith of his choice.

2) All barriers of caste and class will be abolished, giving full equality 10 every citizen as envisaged in the teaching: Manus Ki Jaat Sabhe Eik Hi Pehchan Bo,

3) To bring about economic justice, all forms of discrimination in employment will be banned, and severe punishments will be given to those violating this ban,

4) Subsistence allowances will be given to the unemployed in order to make them financially independent,

5) Jobs will be given according to merit alone, and training will be provided for all forms of jobs. 6) Industries will be expanded and diversified the create jobs for the citizens, and entrepreneurs from all parts of the world will be encouraged to set up industries in Khalistan,

7) Wages will be fixed in the light of the cost of living, so that every worker may be able to meet the financial requirements of self and family.

8) Tough measures will be adopted to eradicate corruption, profiteering, black marketing and other economic evils,

9) Severe punishments will be given to government employees indulging in corrupt practices.

10) To create good relations between the police and public, corrupt and high-handed officials will be weeded out and those who have amassed wealth beyond their bona fide means will be punished, and the wealth amassed by them through corrupt practices will be confiscated, Simultaneously, fair and diligent police officials will be encouraged to serve the people better and thus restore public confidence in the police.

11) All towns, villages and hamlets will be provided telephone service to make quick communication possible.

12) Steps will be taken to stem shortages of water and power,

13) Complete freedom will be given to press, radio and television, so that every citizen may be able to express his views freely.

14) Free medical treatment will be available to all citizens of Khalistan.

15) Schools, colleges, universities and technical institutions will be expanded to make education available to all citizens, and all education will be provided free by the state.

16) Those taking active part in the struggle for Khalistan, and the families of martyrs, will be honored and given high posts in Government establishment,

“This Government-in-exile makes a firm pledge that these benefits will be equally available to all citizens, irrespective of caste, faith or social status,” he added. He urged the religious minorities of the Sikh homeland Hindus, Muslims, Dalits and others—to participate actively in the struggle for the liberation of the homeland, so that the concept of a haven of equality, security, progress and opportunity for all may become a political reality.
