GURGAON: Haryana Chief Minister Bhajan Lal on Friday stated that Punjab had no share in the Yamuna waters and the interests of the state on river waters and territorial disputes with the neighboring state would be “fully protected.”
Talking to newsmen here he reiterated that he would take the entire oppositions into confidence before any settlement on the two issues was arrived at between Punjab and Haryana. Speaking regarding the invitation extended to Punjab C.M for meeting.
Bhajan Lal said it was just a customary courtesy extended by him to the former after his assumption of office of the Chief Minister. There was no special agenda for the meeting and not much of politics came up for discussion during the meeting he added.
The Chief Minister also reiterated that the construction of the remaining portion of the Sutlej Yamuna link canal in Punjab territory would be undertaken by the Border Roads department of Indian army in next month headed.
