OTTAWA: Fighting with inflation will be the priority for conservatives, if reelected and creating new jobs will take a back seat. Finance Minister Gilles Loiselle stressed that Ottawa cannot afford to spend public funds to help 1.6 million unemployed people to work because it would drive up the deficit and decrease business confidence, He said that he believes job creation should be left to the private sector. He further said that the North American Free Trade Agreement will help create an environment for job growth.
