Anandpur Sahib — Akali workers owing allegiance to Longowal have reaffirmed their faith in the leadership of Sant Harchand Singh Longowal at a meeting here. Addressing the gathering Sant Longowal announced that he would shortly disclose the next phase of the morcha for getting the Sikh demands conceded. He also maintained that he was seeking solution within the constitution.
S.G.P.C. President G.S. Tohra, however, struck a discordant note when he emphatically declared that the problem could not be solved within the constitution. ‘Constitution will have to be redrafted to fulfill Sikh aspirations,” he said. “Provisions of the constitution cannot be allowed to stifle Sikh rights,” he added.
