LUCKNOW: U.P. Chief Minister Mulayam Singh Yadav who is now supporting Prime Minister Chander Shekhar’s Lok Dal (socialist) won a won of trust in the State Assembly with the support of Congress (I) and the Kanshi Ramled Bahujan Samaj Party. This victory was highly important for Chander Shekhar to keep up political pressure on Rajiv Gandhi against expediting the withdrawal of support to his government. This victory also gave some maneuverability to Shekhar in finalising his Council of Ministers. Shekhar found it difficult to produce the list to the President. So much so that the Prime Minister had to delay his departure for Male where heads of states are meeting later in the week.
