JERUSALEM — Prime Minister Shimon Peres returned today from a four-day trip to the United States, saying his economic proposals were “very well received” by the Reagan administration.
Peres proposed creation of a $20 billion to $30 billion development fund for the Middle East, similar to the Marshall Plan for rebuilding Europe after the World War Il.
He also proposed increasing Israeli exports to the United States, including intensified sales to the US army.
“Those ideas were very well received, very seriously, both by the administration and in the US, media,” Peres told reporters at Ben-Gurion Airport .

The domestic news agency said ‘Thursday the accident occurred Wednesday when the boat with 30 farm laborers aboard was crossing a canal at Upputeru in the West Godavari district of the state, about 860 miles southeast of New Delhi.
The Press Trust did not say what caused the capsizing.
