Varanasi (Uttar Pradesh): The director general of Punjab police Kanwar Pal Singh Gill has alleged that Pakistan’s Inter-Services Intelligence (ISI) has started forming combined groups of Sikh and Muslim’ fundamentalists to create disturbances in India.

But the I S l efforts would be foiled by the joint efforts of the center and the state governments said Gill credited with having put an end to militancy in the northern border state.

Gill told a meet the Press program here last week terrorism can never be revived in Punjab as the people of the state wanted to live in peace

About the shifting of Activites of militants to Uttar Pradesh especially in Terai (foothills of Himalayas) region Gill said the terrorism in Terai had also been controlled with the joint effort of the Punjab and the U.P. state police.

He said Punjab police officials have held about to meetings in Punjab and U.P. to discuss the problem and chalk out a strategy to deal with militants
