NEW DELHI: The by-election for the New Delhi parliamentary constituency scheduled to be held on November 16 has been countermanded, official sources said here Saturday.
The poll has been counter manded following death of an independent candidate, Mukesh Kumar Garg, in Kanpur on October31.
Two film stars -turned: politicians Rajesh Khanna (Ruling Con gress1) and Shatrughan Sinha (Right Wing Bharatiya Janata partly) were among the various candidates, who were contesting {from this prestigious constituency. Earlier, BIP leader L- K Advani, who had won from two constituencies during the last general elections, quit from New Delhi while retaining the Gandhi Nagar seat in western state of Gujarat.
