NEW DELHI: India and China are on the way to achieving stability, durability and neighborliness in their bilateral relations, President S.D. Sharma said. ~~ Accepting the credentials of new Chinese ambassador Pei Yuanying, Sharma expressed happiness that the two countries had entered an era of normalcy and mutual understanding. He said while exploring new avenues for cooperation, India would continue to work with China to seek a mutually acceptable settlement of the boundary question. _ Earlier, presenting his credentials, Pei Yuanying described China and India as friendly neighbors who were engaged in the historic tasks of developing their national economy and rising living standards.

“To develop friendly relations and mutually beneficial cooperation on the basis of the jointly initiated five principles of peaceful coexistence not only conforms. To the fundamental interest of the two peoples, but also contributes to peace and stability of the region and the world as a whole.”
